MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PROJECTS

Working on a team to define an objective, task, or goal while identifying  and quantifying metrics by which success can be measured and achieved.

Engineering Projects: Welcome

MECHANICAL DESIGN PROJECTS

A series of team design projects taken on in order to complete my undergraduate studies.

EBIKE ACCESSIBILITY AND DEMOCRATIZATION

A 4 month socially engaged design Project

Researched developed and validated a means of making E-biking and bicycle maintenance more accessible to the average person in the anthropocene. The final system and prototype are comprised of a series f complex subsystem design challenges such as the building of a custom Lithium-ion battery, mechanical and electronic back emf protection systems, and 3D printing press fit electrical and mechanical housing interfacings to optimize user interface.

MECHATRONIC LINKAGE DESIGN

Leading and Adapting in an Unprecedented time.

Designed and constructed a mechatronic four-bar linkage in order to achieve a predefined objective on an accelerated timetable with limited resources due to the march 2020 lockdowns.

REMOTE ELECTRIC VEHICLE DESIGN

Continuous Innovation and Mechanical Creativity

Setting and meeting quantitative design objectives in order to build a machine capable of contributing optimally in a multi-vehicle four machine team competition.

Engineering Projects: Projects

TECHNICAL RESEARCH

Individual and Group Lab research, analysis, and reporting results based on simulated task letters.

VIBRATION BASED POWER GENERATION

To assist a company in their development of power generation using river and stream flow; we were tasked to determine the ideal mass and resistance combination, describe the frequency dependence if  the normalized power output, and model the frequency dependence of electrical impedance in the system.

SHIPPING AERODYNAMICS

To assist a shipping company in reducing their overhead costs, we conducted scale model testing of provided trailer geometries to make a prediction of the effects of drag and lift in the fuel efficiency of a full scale truck traveling 65 miles per hour at around sea level.

MATERIAL PROPERTIES OF RECYCLED METALS

To assist a solar panel manufacturer in the making of their panel frames, I determined the material properties of a batch of recycled aluminum they recently received.
